The startup Klugit Energy, from Aveiro, won this Saturday, April 3, the competition “Disrupt’22”, with the proposal to transform the water heater in a smart and sustainable equipment, using a simple electrical outlet.
This competition took place at the Algarve Tech Hub Summit.
In second place was Transfergest, from Faro, with a transfer management software, which aims to streamline the management of transfer companies and public transport, saving time and money in daily operations.
Third place went to the communication management software for sports clubs emjogo.pt. There was also an honourable mention, from a British startup, with the Keylu application, which aims to securely store all documents, along with memories and the best moments.
A total of 75 ideas were generated in the first phase of the Idea Match, on the first day of the technology and innovation event, at the Penha Campus of the University of the Algarve.
Fifteen startups entered the competition and advanced to the empowerment of projects, of which eight reached the pitch phase in front of the jury panel, which included elements of the entities involved in the organization of the first edition of the Algarve Tech Hub Summit – Algarve STP – Systems and Technology Partnership, Algarve Tech Hub, Algarve Evolution, AMAL – Intermunicipal Community of Algarve, ANJE – National Association of Young Entrepreneurs, municipalities of Faro and Loulé, CCDR – Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, Faro 2027, Zero Museum, NERA – Business Association of the Algarve Region and University of Algarve.
The first-place winner received 5 thousand euros, the second 3 thousand and the third 2 thousand, sharing between them another 10 thousand euros in products and services. The awarded startups also have the support of the Algarve Tech Hub to continue developing their ideas.
The “Disrupt’22” was held in the context of the Algarve Tech Hub Summit, which aims to promote the region as a global technology hub and competitive and attract entrepreneurs, companies, remote workers and digital nomads. The first edition, which came to an end yesterday, received 156 speakers from 10 countries and had more than a thousand participants, between face-to-face and online.
